Six sixes

I turned thirty six yesterday. Do you want to know the best thing about it? All year long, I've been thinking I was thirty six already. What a gift - an extra 365 days!

It made me think of my student days - I did a variety of part time jobs (supermarket shelf stacker, sweetie barrow salesgirl, contract dry stone walling, child minding, barmaid...) and when I got paid, I would put a £5 note in a random pocket of my clothing. I cannot tell you the you how much joy I generated for myself by coming across one unexpectedly during a lean week. Unexpected pleasures - they're the best.

Happy Birthday! You're birthday is three days before mine. I am turning thirty three. I remember thinking my mum was so old when she was that age.Ha!

You're not the only one who has done the 'random money' thing - I used to do it all the time, and still do sometimes! I recently put on a jacket I hadn't worn since last winter, only to find a £10 note in the pocket! It's such a lovely feeling - like getting a special gift.

Happy Birthday :-) x

happy birthday for yesterday!, my husband did that last year. his birthday is on christmas eve so as we'd moved to a new area, we decided to have a christmas/house warming/birthday party, and on christmas eve morning he was going on about being 38, until i reminded him he was actually turning 37, and not 38. i think he even rang his mum to double check : )

Happy birthday!
It is always fun to have surprises!
I also do it with candies;) But you have to wear your clothes often!!! You don't want a bad candy.

My son keeps better track of my age than I do.
Hope you had a great day!

Happy Birthday, Ali! That's funny, I am the same way, I have to think twice, "Am I 41 or 42?" I also do the money thing. Hope you had a special day and blessings to you for your year to come!

Happy Birthday!! I wish I could lose a year!
Finding a forgotten fiver has to be one of the best feelings and it doesn't happen nearly often enough!

Happy Birthday! I like the Random Money idea. Whenever my husband goes on a trip, I hide little love notes in his pockets for him to find whenever he finally wears them and get an unexpected surprise.

A very happy birthday to you! I'm sorry I'm late in sending you birthday greetings. How wonderful to "find" an extra year in your life.

Happy Birthday!

The last time I did the random money thing I only found out after I'd washed the outfit - it's amazing how well five pound notes got through the spin cycle!

Happy birthday! Hope you had a lovely day. I'm always forgetting how old I am and have to work forward from the year I was born. Who knows what I'll be like when I'm 70 something!

Happy Birthday Ali!! I hope they all spoilt you rotten! Gosh everyone is so much younger than me it seems! And yes 40 is the new 30 - I LOVE being in my 40's but then I really don't have a choice do I?!

Happy Birthday! I turn 30 in about 10 days, but with a five-week old, alas, I doubt we'll do much to celebrate. So I'm declaring next year my 30th birthday. Does that mean this has to pretend to be my 31st? Anyway, hope you got to do something fun!

Happy Birthday. I have trouble remembering my age too. I usually have to reference what year it is. I'm lucky that 1970 is pretty easy to do the math... Hope you had some special treats today.

Very happy (belated) greetings to you and I did chuckle because I have done the very same thing with my age, twice! I love the £5 thing, I sort of still do that in fact and the thrill is just the same!
