T is for... Tragedy

Prone to exaggeration - who me? Well, possibly a touch. But it really hacks me off when my lovingly sewn book cover turns out to be too small for the ******* book.

And I used my precious jumbo ric rack too. Serves me right for thinking I was clever enough to sew without instructions. Yet another one for the 'crafts gone bad' hall of fame. I should know better than to approach the machine while suffering from PMT.

There's only one cure. Tea. With biscuits. Preferably chocolate.

Grudgingly I have to admit that all is not bad in the world. Humph.

It might be cold comfort, but one rarely, if ever, makes the same crafting mistake twice. Your project is cute nonetheless.

I agree, your project still looks cute :) And tea + chocolate biscuits do make all things better:)

but just think if it had all gone as planned what would you have done for the letter "t"

If it is not big enough around, you can cut the center back and put in a contrasting patch for a "spine". If it is not tall enough you could do the same on the bottom edge. Trying to be helpful since I know a bit about sewing mess-ups. ("Uh, yeah, I meant to do that.") But it is lovely as it is and maybe in future you will find a book to fit it.

That cookie looks delish. Now I want chocolate. Thanks. :P I'm trying to lose baby fat here!

surely you can find a smaller book? this time you'll have to judge it by its cover..

sorry bad joke. But I've done 5 loads of washing today/hoovered/dusted/washed/ironed... all day.

And I'm tired.

It is a lovely book cover. But I sympathise - you'd think I'd know by now that I can't sew without pinning or tacking or something - but no, off I go again and end up with wonky seams. Just as well I'm not trying to sell the skirts I make ...

choose another ****** book!

You should still be proud you can make anything whilst putting up with PMT let alone something that pretty. I can't sew a sausage on PMT :0)

well, it's cute anyway!
(any chocolate left?)

Thanks goodness for chocolate biscuits! That is a tragedy when you save something and it turns out not right!

and thank you, for including me in your r's.

It seems obvious to me that the ******* book is too big, not the cover too small! Great colours and fabrics though x

Phew, so glad to know I am not the only one who does that and why, I ask you, does it always happen when you break into a special stash of something .....

"Crafts gone Bad" that sounds like a great name for a flickr group.

Still, good excuse for breaking out the chocolate!
