Thank you

I always knew you guys were special. I wish I could find a way better than mere words of thanking you - for your support, advice, kind thoughts, sharing of your own stories and plain making me laugh after my last post. You are truly amazing and hopefully I have managed to thank most of you in person (well, by e-mail anyway). Your comments and e-mails have meant a lot.

We're all doing fine here - Mark had now been given a referral to an Educational Psychologist (not until May, but hey, it's a step forward) and we start with the GP/Community Paediatrician referral tomorrow.

And yes, I've got crafty stuff to show you, but it's late, so it'll have to be tomorrow.

I'm so pleased you have an appointment to see an EP, it doesn't matter that it is not until May, you have it!

Also, if school feel that there is a 'problem' get them to push it, because they are the ones who need the help, so speak to the school Senco, and get them to push for everything! I'm glad you are feeling a bit happier, it makes everyone happy too :)

I didn't see your other post 'til today. It's so hard with these things, isn't it?

I know when we found out that Seb had serious motor skill problems and had to have him seen by a neurologist etc etc, it was terrifying. Luckily we have great teachers here and they are the ones that alerted us to the problems.

Ultimately, years down the line it has helped tremendously to have a diagnosis.

And the colour of your elephant is?...
We had a parents interview last night. DP is doing better, thank God, but his times tables are poor(!) Considering last year the panic was he couldn't walk down stairs confidently, I'm happy.

Glad to hear that the ball is rolling. You didn't need to thank us all - I'm sure everyone else would agree that we're glad to 'help' in any way that we can. Hopefully having our 'virtual' ear will give you just a little support in challenging times. Take care and have a great weekend.

my daughters quirkiness was too vague to 'label' - dyslexic, dyspraxic, add etc - and for years we battled with teachers who wrote her off "a lovely girl Mrs D but she's never going to get it!" But after years of specialists and Drs and educational pyschologists - including a school move due to bullying - she has blossomed into a 14 year old who is doing GCSE's, with friends who love her and just laugh at her more quirky behaviour. My greatest moment was recently when she told me that she knew she would have been sunk without me as her mum. You sound such a wonderful mother, I'm sure your little boy has the best mother he needs, hang in there, I just wanted you to know there is light at the end of the tunnel.
