Who ate all the shortbread?

I made another batch of macadamia and mandarin shortbread tonight intending to take it along to my book group Christmas get-together, but hubby has requisitioned it for work. Those colleagues had better be grateful...

We are discussing Fear and Trembling by Amelie Nothomb. It is the story of a Belgian girl who spends a year working for a Japanese corporation in Tokyo and I absolutely loved it. But then, I don't know how much of that is because I have worked in Tokyo and found it hugely familiar to read about. I'm looking forward to seeing what the others thought.

It may be tempting fate to say so, but I think I am finished with Christmas shopping (at least on the present procurement front). Now I just need to attend to a couple of wrapping dilemmas (rugby ball ideas anyone?) then it's food food food! My favourite bit.

I'm gaining weight looking at the shortbread. Yum! Lucky you--done with Christmas shopping. I have a sick one at home and am wondering when I can go out next to finish mine up. Merry Christmas, Ali!

what book club are you in? At the end of every year I am disappointed at my lack of reading and endevour to be better in the new year.

Rugby Ball...my husband would love one of those! He is a huge Rugby nut.

Perhaps you could grab a cardboard box from the grocery/fruit and veg store and wrap it up in that!

I might even endeavour to be a better speller too!

Pretty cookies. Nothing so labor intensive for me yet - but just wait.

Gift bags, baby. They are unphotogenic and cheesy but so easy and you can use them over and over and over. I want to do some sort of eco fabric wrap each year until I remember I am stuck with 50 gift bags from previous Christmases that my family and friends and I keep exchanging back and forth with each other...

ooh yum, scrumptious looking shortbread - macadamia and mandarin sounds so delicious and very festive and I love the chocolate drizzle. Hope those workers toasted your good health and fab baking skills!
