Hubby is back from his trip to the USA tomorrow and not a moment too soon. I sent the boys downstairs after baths while I tidied up and changed bedlinen upstairs. I should have smelled a rat when I heard happy play and giggling. What am I? A rookie?
When they re-appeared. they had painted one another's finger and toe nails with pink and lime green felt tips. Oh, and added a few strategic tattoos. Tattooed foreheads are all the rage in Oxfordshire dontcha know.
Did I mention this was AFTER bath time?
And I just discovered my favourite keep calm and carry on poster is now available as a tea towel!

A couple of posts ago I recognised Masons as my local fabric shop when I was making my own clothes as a teenager 20 years ago but thought it must be a coincidence. Today you're mentioning Oxfordshire and I now know for certain that you live in or around Abingdon. I loved Masons!!! My parents moved away from Abingdon 5yrs ago so I haven't been back recently but always used to go in when I went back home. Lucky you to live so close!!! Karen
Ugh, you have my sympathies. My younger one decided to decorate herself with orange pen at 8am as I was chasing her sister around trying to get her ready for school. On closer inspection it turns out she had been sharpening a biro. As you do.
(Trying to post this for the third time. Blogger seems to be cross with me today)
Hahahahaha!
Not quite as exiting as yesterday though.
oh, I need one of those frames up in my house too!
ha ha!
and thanks for reminding me about that poster - must get one! (over the mantel? too much?) :)
Your poster definitely gives the best advice for coping in the face of pink and green toenails! Bet you're looking forward to your husband's arrival home!
I hope hubby brings you back loads of nice things from the US!
oh lord! Yes, I had felt tip pen all over little hands this evening...nice :O I think I need one of those keep calm posters
Oh you tease! Don't you know we MUST see the pics of the tattooed heads. Don't even try to tell me you didn't take them.
Oh the fun of it. My toddler ate one of the tablets for colouring the bath last night. Ho hum - he is still here this morning thank goodness!
I need one of those posters tattooed to the inside of my eye lids so everytime I start to panic at the sheer overwhelmingness of it all I can close my eyes and start to calm down.
This morning just before kinder drop off 5yo daughter got my very red lipstick and painted a much larger mouth on her face than the one she was born with and kissed her baby sister all over her face. Mmmmmm. I ALWAYS worry when that one is quiet.
Nr 2 and his 'girl' once put make up on each other's faces... except it wasn't make up. They used felt tips out of my office, NOT the washable type either. Black eyeliner, blue eyeshadow (like Barbie apparently) and even some lipstick. It was weeks before it all came off completely.
ah children...
I ALWAYS worry when my two are quiet, it normally means trouble!
