Trout

Roasted trout with thyme for dinner tonight - from The Naked Chef. It's my favourite of Jamie Oliver's cookbooks - honest food that makes you want to eat. No faffing about.

And tonight, the thyme, bay leaves, parsley for new potatoes and salad all came from the garden. Heaven.

I've included a link to the recipe because if nothing else, you need to try the roasted lemons with bay leaves as a fish accompaniment. They were wonderful.

This is so impressive and I'm totally in awe of your cooking skills! Whole fish = me running away!!!

That looks so good! Is your bay plant difficult to care for?

That sounds so tasty. I'm waiting for a taste of new potatoes (have to wait to see them at the farmer's market though).

Your dinner looks wonderful!! (I swear I'm dreaming of some lovely fish right now) I love good food but I also love to look at it too. I don't have any Jamie Oliver cookbooks (yet) but I believe I may soon! (I must always add to my collection you see!)

I have never cooked or even eaten trout before but I was recently thinking of trying to include more fish in my diet! thanks for the recipe.

you are responsible for me eating my lunch at 11.45am.

This means I'll have to have something else between now and dinner. No good.

You bad bad influence.

ooh, mine too..well actually it is the only Jamie Oliver book I own..but I'm so happy with it that I wouldn't buy another. The lamb shanks and the method of cooking risotto...and the pork roast...my husband has claimed that as 'his' dish. Now Trout..we don't eat a lot of seafood at home, I lose all confidence when it comes to cooking fish.

and why is it that I always read your posts on food just before dinner!

I love fish, that trout looks delish. Sadly husband wont eat fish so I don't cook it that often, might have to do him some cheese on toast and trout for me!

Scrummy! Wish I could cook this but I'm married to a man with a pathalogical hatred of food which watches him from the plate! I think it's due to a forced-feeding of freshly caught, publically disembowled mackrel on a childhood holiday in cornwall!

I love the Jamie Oliver books because they appeal to my "throw it all into a baking tray and hope for the best" mentality. Unfortunately I live with a man who has a major problem with fish bones so I'll have to have the whole trout to myself - shame!
