Marigolds

Autumn is here - my Crocs with no socks felt decidedly inappropriate today and my hands are beginning to take on their winter persona. Chapped and rough - no amount of hand cream ever seems to help. It's only since having children and I'm sure it's a reflection of the number of times a day I have to wash my hands after dealing with bottoms, noses, endless food preparation and the ever present pile of washing up.
So, a quick craft to cheer those gungy saucepan interludes - decorated Marigolds. With the perkiest fabric I could lay my hands on.

If you make some, please let me have a peek!

Cute! Isn't it funny how some small bit of cheer can perk up the most mundane chores?

Gotta get me some of those!!!

Very snazzy - even makes washing up interesting!

I have this fabric too and everyday Noah gets it out and says 'Your fabric mummy - make something'

Do you just sew them on? Does that not make them leak? Want a pair!

lovely - almost makes doing the washing up worthwhile! Try Crabtree and Evelyn's Gardeners hand therapy - I too have 'mummy' hands but it definitely does the trick.

Those are so fun! Gotta try that little idea soon. Maybe that will make doing the dishes a little more fun. Right now it is my LEAST favorite chore around here.

Did you sew the fabric on? What a great idea - makes you want to do the washing up I'm sure. Will you share how you did it with us not so imaginative folks?

Very pretty like a little bit of sunshine. My hands are cracking as well - it's a bad time of year for moms.

Very cute and definitely fun!
For your hands - I don't know if it would work for you, but mine have been much better after I started taking fish oil capsules (Omega 3 etc) which also contain vitamin D, a couple of years ago.

Oh, those are SO funky!! Love them. I know what you mean about endless hand washing; mine are the same.

My hands are always so dry too! I try to keep a tube of hand cream at every basin, so it is there after I wash my hands...and one next to my computer...and one in my handbag...and one in the car..slap a bit on at the red traffic lights! The one I always favour is the Body Shop's Hemp hand cream. I first started using it in Italy and everytime I open the lid it takes me back!

I bought in T X MAXX last week 2 pairs of green calvin cline socks, at £2.00 a pair isnstead of £8.00. They match the colour of my crocs really well, so I can now wear my crocs with socks!! However winters a so wet around here, I can't imagine I'll get to wear the crocs often!
