Little excursion today to the Living Rainforest. It's a great favourite of ours - not big, not flashy, but a lot of fun creeping round the glasshouses and spotting amazing plants, butterflies, birds and the odd monkey, spider and snake.
It was also a special clay animal workshop day.
Here's a yellow toed tortoise (who has to dry before his toes can be painted)
A scorpion
And a dwarf crocodile.
Oh yes, I think I had as much if not more fun than the kids.
Tomorrow we have to do the supermarket and haircuts. I'm not predicting quite so much fun.

just as I opened this page, my son comes in and says, 'what are they?' He guessed 2 out of three. He then says 'Oh mummy, can I make something out of clay today?' I had planned on going to an art supply shop anyway, so it looks like we might be making some clay creations of our own...except I just know his will be a monster truck!
Those are sooo cute. My kids have been playing with a lot of playdough lately. {making crabby patties} and playing with a lot of legos. {which I love} It seems we have as much fun playing + creating as they do :)
I'm sure tomorrow will be fun too!
the clay animals are fab!
lovely scales, ali!
okay - for your next sculpture i would like to see.... a peacock.
(is your ceramics class over?)
Love the work going on there! I set off to go to a craft workshop with mine & got waylaid by the charity shops in between!
What fun for you and the kids! I'll be glad when we move to be near the grandkids as I love doing projects like this with them.
Excellent stuff. We had fun in the sand today. It never ceases to amaze me how many times I can bury my toddler's hands in sand and she still finds it hysterical!
Ooh we must go back there, it's ages since we took our girlie and i bet my son would love it. Though on second thoughts he'd probably try and join the croc :~o
Good luck with the haircuts!
