I'm glad it's not just me - my husband looked at me like I was insane when I wept at the nursery nativity last year - and my little one was on my lap too scared to go up and be a dancing sheep but when a 4 year old Mary started to sing in a tiny quiet voice - how could you not?

This year they're doing the Gruffalo. I think I can hold it together for that ;-)

Oliver was a candle and there wasnt a dry eye in the house. I was a wreck all day in fact. we have been told not to put photos of the little ones on the web so i am doingas i am told as the head is quite a formidable lady.

I always cried at all my children's activities, too, even when they were in high school. I hope your little "snowflake" enjoyed himself and I think the picture of the box of tissues is rather poignant. The sunrise picture is so lovely.

I always well up a bit when I watch nativities - even when my children aren't in them! I went with the reception class to watch a local pre-school one last week and the donkey costume is the best I've ever seen - it is a bit like Bernie Clifton and his ostrich, only a donkey instead. Even though this is the 3rd year it still brought a little tear to my eye!

Ahh but you are Ali and your words are always special! Ours didn't do the nativity but sang lots of lovely Christmas songs and just seeing them perform is enough to get me going! Lovely sunrise - makes me miss cold England somehow! It's pouring here today just in time for Daphne's birthday party!!

Nr 2 was the archangel Gabriel... he was hilarious. I think I cried from laughing too much (oh yes, and the pride of my little one having an audience full of adults in stitches). He owned that stage with panache and... well, he doesn't get it from me. I'm still having nightmares from the time (at 13yr old) I was made to be the donkey. That was cruel.

And what were you doing up at sunrise? All in the name of blogging?

Awww, I'm just the same with nativities - my youngest did his this week, it was completely fabulous. :-D
